CUSTOM DESIGN ENGINEERING

Phoenix International® designs highly ruggedized electronics that can withstand the harsh physical and electrical environments our customer's products operate in — like on-highway, agricultural, heavy construction, industrial control, material handling, and many others.

We supply our customer's total system needs From embedded controls for engines, transmissions, electro-hydraulics and other vehicle operations to user interfaces and display technology that communicate through CAN communications, fiber optics and multiplexing, we have the expertise and design experience to supply our customer's complete system needs.

ENSURING QUALITY, EFFICIENCY

Phoenix International's Software Group recently achieved a Level 3 rating from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) [http://www.sei.cmu.edu/] at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. The rating is based on the Capability Maturity Model® (CMM) which is the most widely accepted model for understanding the process of software development.

By defining, structuring and formalizing our procedures to meet the requirements of a Level 3 rating, we improve quality, reduce development time, reduce costs, use resources more efficiently, and improve work documentation in all areas of our engineering organization.

TECHNICAL RESOURCES

Because we are technologically driven we realize the importance of establishing and maintaining qualified technical resources. About 50 percent of our employees have extensive backgrounds in the engineering field with over 200 design engineers based at the Fargo facility alone.

Our marketing group is comprised of program managers with mechanical and electrical engineering degrees, and in manufacturing, our test, manufacturing, and quality engineering groups are comprised of degreed personnel backed by years of industry experience.

PHOENIX ESTABLISHES NETLab

As a part of Phoenix International's Advanced Technology program, a NETwork communications Lab (NETLab) has been created which will provide information about technology in vehicle networking. The NETLab workspace is set aside for investigation, demonstration, and evaluation of vehicle networks.
