PHOENIX NETLab
Phoenix International's® NETLab is a communications
NETwork Laboratory. Phoenix engineers use the lab to demonstrate
and experiment with vehicle communications networks and protocols.
The lab is also used to test the compliance of electronic control
units (ECUs) to network protocols such as SAE J1939. From the Society
of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the J1939® protocol deals primarily
with on-highway and construction vehicles. These documents are also
synchronized with the worldwide ISO agricultural standard, ISO 11783®,
and the new Marine industry standard, NMEA 2000®. Electronic
communication networks that conform to these standards are found
on mobile vehicles operating under adverse conditions in industries
such as on-highway, agricultural, heavy construction, industrial
control, material handling, and marine as well as many others.
