When one of the leading school and commercial bus manufacturers in North America needed help to modernize their electrical systems, they turned to Phoenix International. The OEM's final assembly process was dominated by outdated point-to-point wiring build stations, with significant unit-to-unit configuration differences. And they were experiencing service reliability issues in the field, with difficulty conducting productive trouble shooting. They needed a Networked Architecture solution to resolve their problems. That's where we stepped in.
Phoenix International's experienced team of electrical design engineers met with the customer and held a system engineering workshop to define the features and functions required of the electronic systems. Armed with this information, our team attacked the problem utilizing our proven design and development process. Our engineers established hardware and software requirements and designed a CAN-based system architecture capable of meeting the clients needs for functionality and durability.
